Legislative auditor shall conduct or contract with independent third-party vendors to conduct financial audits of federal, state, local, and nonprofit spending on refugee resettlement costs and services in Minnesota.

Audits must be conducted in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards issued by the United States Government Accountability Office.

Legislative auditor shall report audit results to chairs and ranking minority members of legislative committees and divisions with jurisdiction over health and human services finance and policy by February 1, 2017.

Commissioner of human services shall transfer necessary funds to the Office of the Legislative Auditor in fiscal year 2017 to conduct the audits, with the central office appropriation under Laws 2015, chapter 71, article 14, section 2, subdivision 3, reduced accordingly.
