Amends Minnesota Statutes section 10A.01, subdivision 16 to allow special election cycles to end before the standard 60-day period by adding reference to section 10A.095

Creates new section 10A.095 allowing candidates in special elections to terminate the election cycle by providing written notice to the board within 5 days after the election

Notice must be delivered to the board before 5 p.m. on the fifth day after the election, or before 5 p.m. on the next business day if the fifth day falls on a weekend or holiday

Both amendments are effective the day following final enactment and apply to any special election cycle that starts on or after that date
