Commissioner may amend rules to reflect changes in national minimum standard scores and must select a high school equivalency test in consultation with adult basic education stakeholders.

Commissioner shall pay 60 percent of high school equivalency test fees for eligible individuals, not to exceed $40 per person.

For fiscal year 2017 only, commissioner shall pay 100 percent of test fees, capped at the cost of one full battery of tests per individual per year.

Terminology changed throughout Minnesota Statutes from "General Education Development" or "GED" to "commissioner-selected high school equivalency" in definitions and student enrollment contexts.

Revisor of statutes instructed to substitute "commissioner-selected high school equivalency" for "general education development" and "GED" throughout Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota Rules where referring to high school equivalency tests and certifications.
