HF1420 Summary

• Modifies Minnesota's world's best workforce performance measures to include academic achievement gaps, rigorous course taking, enrichment experiences, Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments results, graduation rates, and career and college readiness indicators.

• Allows career and college readiness to be demonstrated through either high school Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments performance or career and technical education certificates or credits.

• Requires school boards to publish annual reports on district performance using the specified measures and hold public meetings to review student achievement goals and improvement plans.

• Directs the commissioner of education to annually report student performance at each school site and district using the minimum performance measures and post results on the Department of Education's website.

• Requires the commissioner to report by January 25 each year to legislature on districts that failed to submit reports and districts not making sufficient progress toward meeting world's best workforce goals in any consecutive three-year period.
