Commissioner of Transportation must study the feasibility of expanding Trunk Highway 371 to a four-lane highway from Jenkins to Cass Lake.

Study must identify obstacles to expansion, suggest potential routes through impacted communities, and analyze impacts on utilities, traffic safety, bikeway/recreational trails, and traffic patterns.

Study must provide estimated project cost based on Department of Transportation design and construction standards.

Commissioner must submit report to legislative committees with jurisdiction over transportation finance and policy by December 15, 2017.

$4,000,000 from the trunk highway fund is appropriated in fiscal year 2018 to conduct the study.
