Hunger Solutions shall award grants to sustain existing mobile food shelf programs (maximum $25,000) and create new mobile programs (maximum $75,000) on a priority basis.

Grant applicants must submit information including project location, program description, evidence of community need and support, total project cost, funding sources, and commitment to maintain the program long-term.

Priority is given to applicants serving unserved or underserved areas, creating or expanding programs, serving high-need areas, demonstrating strong community support, leveraging additional funding, and committing to multiyear operation.

$2,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2018, with $1,000,000 designated for sustaining existing programs and $1,000,000 for creating new programs.

Unencumbered balance from the first year carries forward to the second year rather than canceling.
