Commissioner of revenue must transfer $10,000,000 annually to the town road account under section 162.081, beginning with fiscal year 2019 and thereafter.

Funds transferred to the town road account are to be distributed, apportioned, and used as provided under section 162.081, subdivisions 2 to 4.

Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 477A.013, subdivision 1, which previously provided township aid distributions based on agricultural property factor, town area factor, population factor, and a fixed multiplier of 0.0045.

Effective date is for aids payable in 2018, redirecting existing township aid funding to town road maintenance and improvement purposes.
