Imposes an additional annual registration fee of $75 for electric vehicles and $125 for all-electric vehicles in Minnesota.

All-electric vehicle is defined as a vehicle powered solely by an electric motor drawing current from rechargeable batteries, fuel cells, or other portable electrical sources, and excludes plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

Revenue from the electric vehicle registration fees must be deposited in the highway user tax distribution fund.

Effective January 1, 2018, and applies to all vehicle registrations effective on and after that date.
