Adds Subdivision 26 to Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 550.37, to provide asset protection for health savings accounts and medical savings accounts.

Exempts up to $25,000 in present value held in a health savings account, as defined in Internal Revenue Code section 223(d), from creditors.

Exempts up to $25,000 in present value held in a medical savings account, as defined in Internal Revenue Code section 220(d)(1), from creditors.

Excludes these exemptions in cases involving marital asset division under section 518.58, surviving spouse benefits under section 518.581, and support orders under section 518A.53.
