Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) shall collaborate with the city of Minneapolis to identify recently resurfaced roads, streets, parking areas, or trails for sealing with soy-based sealant on asphalt surfaces.

AURI must study and analyze the soy-based sealant's impact on safety, longevity, usability, practicality, cost-competitiveness, air quality, and other factors identified by AURI or Minneapolis.

AURI shall collect and record all related data and make any developed reports publicly available.

Priority shall be given to roads, streets, parking areas, or trails located in communities as described in Minnesota Statutes, section 116.07, subdivision 4a.

$200,000 is appropriated from the general fund to AURI in fiscal year 2018, available until expended.
