School districts must make reasonable efforts to accommodate students who wish to be excused from curricular activities for religious observance and must provide annual notice to parents of this policy, effective for the 2017-2018 school year and later.

School boards may consider the community's religious observance when adopting annual school calendars.

Employers must grant at least two days of unpaid leave per calendar year to employees for reasons of faith or conscience or organized activities conducted by a religious denomination, church, or religious organization, unless the employee's absence would impose undue hardship.

Employees requesting religious leave must provide reasonable notice to their employer.

The provisions defining "employee" and "employer" apply broadly to include individuals, corporations, nonprofits, school districts, and all governmental subdivisions.
