HF2722 Summary

• Prohibits the Secretary of State from publishing on its website the address of a business entity if it has a natural person as its sole shareholder, member, manager, or owner and that person's home address is used as the registered office or principal office address.

• Requires the Secretary of State to make the natural person's address available to the public upon request via telephone, mail, electronic mail, and facsimile transmission.

• Applies the restrictions to both annual renewal filings under Minnesota Statutes section 5.34 and registered office filings under section 5.36.

• Effective August 1, 2018, for annual renewals and registered office filings filed on or after that date.
