• Permits optometrists, physicians, APRNs, and physician assistants to authorize new prescription eyeglasses using old lens prescriptions or last available prescriptions during emergencies or when glasses are lost.

• Authorizes APRNs to approve medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder when granted variance by the State Opioid Treatment Authority and federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

• Allows APRNs to certify emergency nursing facility admissions and determine when delaying admission would adversely affect a person's health and safety.

• Makes technical updates throughout Minnesota statutes to include APRNs alongside physicians in adoption proceedings, child protection determinations, and other healthcare decision-making roles.
