School counselors must present and explain career opportunities and benefits offered by the United States armed forces as part of college and career exploration, and must provide information about the military enlistment test when discussing military service with students or parents.

School districts must provide military recruiters the same access to secondary school students as provided to institutions of higher education or prospective employers.

School districts are encouraged to sponsor an armed forces career opportunity day each school year prior to the third Thursday of November, with invitations extended to recruiters from each branch of the United States armed forces to make presentations to interested secondary students.

Student personal learning plans must help students access education and career options, including armed forces career options.

Counselors, school social workers, and teachers providing academic, college, and career planning support may submit proof of training on armed forces career options as evidence of professional growth for license renewal purposes.
