• Appropriates $590,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $590,000 in fiscal year 2019 from the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for grants to centers for independent living.

• Grant funds must be used to hire eight full-time employees to provide services to veterans under Minnesota Statutes, section 268A.11.

• Fiscal year 2018 appropriation is available until spent and becomes effective the day following final enactment.

• Fiscal year 2019 appropriation becomes effective July 1, 2018.

• These appropriations are in addition to funding provided under Laws 2017, chapter 94, article 1, section 2, subdivision 6, paragraph (b).
