Appropriates $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2018 and $1,500,000 for fiscal year 2019 to the Sanneh Foundation for academic and behavioral interventions targeting low-performing and chronically absent students, with focus on low-income students and students of color.

Funds must be used to establish services in schools where the Sanneh Foundation does not currently operate as of June 30, 2017, and cannot support existing programs.

Grant funds may support all-day, in-school, and before- and after-school academic and behavioral interventions throughout the school year and summer; career exploration opportunities including business exposure; and pathways in cooperation with higher education partners for pursuing careers in education and youth development.

Goals of the grants include decreasing absenteeism, encouraging school engagement, improving grades, and improving graduation rates.

Any unexpended balance from fiscal year 2018 carries forward to fiscal year 2019; this is a one-time appropriation effective the day following final enactment.
