Commissioner of health shall convene a working group of no more than 35 members representing organizations focused on aging, healthcare, rural communities, and persons of color to assess social isolation impacts on Minnesotans over age 55.

Working group must make recommendations to the governor and legislative committees on public health impacts, existing resources, needed policies and services for rural areas and communities of color, and impacts on older adults with disabilities.

Working group must hold at least four public meetings beginning August 10, 2018, utilizing technology to reach interested persons statewide, and complete meetings by December 10, 2018.

Commissioner of health must submit working group recommendations and report to the governor and health and human services committees by January 14, 2019.

$75,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2019 for an independent professional facilitator's salary and meeting management expenses; working group sunsets after delivering the required report.
