Appropriates $50,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2018 to the Commissioner of Public Safety for an education and awareness campaign on passing school buses.

Funds are a one-time appropriation available through fiscal year 2019.

Campaign must be designed to reduce unlawful passing of school buses and inform drivers about safety laws requiring vehicles to stop when a school bus displays extended stop-signal arm and flashing red lights.

Campaign must include information about penalties for violations and identify best practices using effective communication methods and multiple forms of media.

Provision is effective the day following final enactment.
