Eliminates the statute of limitations for indictments or complaints involving violations of Minnesota Statutes sections 609.322 and 609.342 to 609.345 (certain sex offenses) when the victim was under 18 years old at the time of the offense.

Changes the limitation period for sex offenses against victims under 18 from the later of nine years after commission or three years after reporting to law enforcement to no time limit.

Maintains a six-year statute of limitations for violations of section 609.282 where the victim was 18 years or older at the time of the offense.

Allows prosecution at any time for violations of sections 609.322 and 609.342 to 609.344 if physical evidence capable of DNA testing is collected and preserved.

Effective August 1, 2018, and applies to violations committed on or after that date and to crimes committed before that date if the limitations period had not expired by August 1, 2018.
