Amends Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 18.78, subdivision 1 to require the commissioner of transportation to fully reimburse adjacent landowners for documented costs to control or eradicate noxious weeds on trunk highway right-of-ways.

Applies when the commissioner fails to control or eradicate noxious weeds as specified in a general weed notice published under section 18.83 or as otherwise ordered by an inspector or county-designated employee.

Reimbursement covers owners or occupants of land adjacent to the right-of-way for their actual documented costs incurred in controlling or eradicating the noxious weeds.

Notwithstanding section 3.736, subdivision 3, establishes this reimbursement requirement as an exception to existing transportation code provisions.
