$1,550,000 appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to Minnesota Commercial Railway Company to demolish and replace the railroad bridge over Rice Creek in New Brighton.

Grant funding covers predesign, design, right-of-way acquisition, engineering, construction, and equipping of the replacement bridge to meet railroad operator needs.

Ramsey County must review and approve the project design to ensure it does not interfere with recreational use of adjacent park property and Rice Creek.

Rice Creek Watershed District must approve the project to ensure its impact on creek flows complies with the watershed district's adopted rules.

Minnesota Commercial Railway Company must remove all existing bridge structures from the creek stream bed and enter an agreement with Ramsey County providing construction access, maintenance access, and repair of county trails damaged by railway work.
