HF 3890 Summary

• Allows the commissioner of agriculture to reimburse university extension agents up to $5,000 per year for expenses incurred in determining fair market values of destroyed or crippled livestock.

• Allocates $175,000 for fiscal year 2018 and $175,000 for fiscal year 2019 for compensation of destroyed or crippled livestock under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.737.

• Permits unspent first-year appropriations for livestock compensation to be available in the second year if needed.

• Allows the commissioner to transfer funds between livestock compensation and crop damage appropriations if either program experiences unusually high claims.

• Amends Laws 2017, chapter 88, article 1, section 2, subdivision 2, to reflect increased Protection Services appropriations from $17,821,000 to $17,825,000.
