$26,000,000 appropriated from bond proceeds fund to the Commissioner of Administration to design, construct, furnish, and equip an expansion of the Minneapolis veterans home providing continuum of care including skilled nursing care.

Commissioner of Veterans Affairs may expand the home with up to 150 beds available for eligible Minnesota veterans and their spouses, with the state covering operating costs exceeding revenue and federal funding.

Commissioner of Administration may accept land or money contributions from private individuals, businesses, local governments, veterans service organizations, and other nonstate sources to provide matching funding for federal funding solicitation.

Commissioner of Management and Budget authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to $26,000,000 under Minnesota Statutes sections 16A.631 to 16A.675 and Minnesota Constitution article XI, sections 4 to 7.

Provision becomes effective the day following final enactment.
