Road authorities may issue annual permits for six-axle vehicles to haul qualifying agricultural products at gross weights up to 90,000 pounds, or 99,000 pounds during commissioner-designated periods, with a $300 permit fee.

Road authorities may issue annual permits for seven-axle vehicles to haul qualifying agricultural products at gross weights up to 97,000 pounds, or 99,000 pounds during commissioner-designated periods, with a $500 permit fee.

Defines "qualifying agricultural products" as raw or unprocessed agricultural products, livestock and poultry feed, seed, fertilizer, potash, and agricultural lime.

Drivers of seven-axle vehicles must comply with federal driver qualification requirements under Code of Federal Regulations title 49, parts 40 and 382, unless exempt under Minnesota law.

Vehicles with sealed intermodal containers may be operated on interstate highways if allowed by the United States Department of Transportation.
