Supervisors and other town officers in towns holding November elections shall serve four-year terms commencing the day after taking the oath required under section 367.25, rather than on the first Monday in January.

Town officers elected at November elections must take their oath before assuming office, with the oath to be administered and certified by the town clerk without fee.

Towns with combined clerk and treasurer offices and annual revenue exceeding the inflation-adjusted threshold ($150,000 as of 2004) shall provide for a biennial audit instead of an annual audit of financial affairs.

Towns with combined clerk and treasurer offices and annual revenue at or below the inflation-adjusted threshold shall provide for an audit at least once every five years covering a randomly selected one-year period.

Public accountants conducting audits for towns must forward copies of completed audits to the state auditor.
