• Establishes the Student Physical Privacy Act under Minnesota Statutes chapter 121A to protect student privacy and safety in school facilities where students may be in various states of undress.

• Defines "sex" as the physical condition of being male or female, determined by a person's chromosomes and identified at birth by anatomy.

• Requires public school restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, and shower rooms accessible by multiple students to be designated exclusively for use by students of either male or female sex only.

• Mandates that designated single-sex facilities shall be used only by members of that sex.

• Permits schools to provide single-occupancy or controlled-access faculty facilities upon student request for special circumstances, but prohibits allowing students to use facilities designated for the opposite sex.
