Requires high school students beginning 9th grade in the 2020-2021 school year and later to complete a specific course in government and citizenship in either 11th or 12th grade as part of their 3.5 social studies credits for graduation.

Removes the previous language that allowed government and citizenship to be part of a combination of social studies credits and now makes it a standalone required course.

Modifies reporting requirements to include the percentage of students who graduated in the previous school year and correctly answered at least 30 of 50 civics test questions in school performance reports.

Updates Minnesota Statutes sections 120B.024 and 120B.36 to implement the new government and citizenship graduation requirement and corresponding reporting obligations.
