Creates a new property classification (Class 1e) for homestead properties that provide licensed family day care or group family day care under Minnesota Rules, chapter 9502.

Class 1e property receives a reduced classification rate of 0.5 percent of market value, compared to 1 percent for standard residential homestead property (Class 1a).

Class 1e applies to any portion of homestead property already classified as Class 1a, 1b, or 2a that is used for licensed day care services.

Allows single-family homes, duplexes, and triplexes used for licensed child care to classify the child care portion as part of the homestead property rather than commercial property.

Effective beginning with taxes payable in 2019.
