HF 4206 Summary

• Amends electronic visit verification requirements for human services to comply with the 21st Century Cures Act (Public Law 114-255), replacing prior "electronic service delivery documentation system" language with "electronic visit verification."

• Requires the commissioner of human services to establish implementation requirements and standards for electronic visit verification systems, including consideration of administrative burden on providers and service recipients.

• Applies to personal care assistance services, community first services and supports, home health services, and other medical supplies and equipment or home and community-based services required to be electronically verified under federal law.

• Allows providers to select their own electronic visit verification system meeting commissioner standards or use a state-selected system, with all systems required to provide data to the commissioner in a specified format and frequency.

• Repeals Minnesota Statutes section 256B.0705, which previously mandated telephone-based service verifications for personal care assistance services conducted at least every 90 days.
