HF4215 Summary

• Extends the availability of a $330,000 grant to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board for predesign and design of the Brian Coyle Community Center renovation and expansion until June 30, 2020.

• Requires the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Pillsbury United Communities, Hennepin County, institutions of higher education, and neighborhood organizations to develop and reform an agreement for use of the existing center before any funds are expended.

• Allows the appropriation to be used toward actual renovation and expansion of the Brian Coyle Community Center, not just design work.

• Permits the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to use the funds for capital costs of any recreation project or facility in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood, notwithstanding other limitations in the subdivision.

• Does not require a local match for the grant and takes effect the day following final enactment.
