Appropriates unspecified funding from the general fund in fiscal year 2019 to the commissioner of employment and economic development for grants to licensed family and group family day care providers.

Grants must range from at least $500 to not more than $2,000 and can be used for startup costs of a child care business or costs to achieve Parent Aware rating.

Commissioner must prioritize grants to providers in communities with documented shortages of child care providers.

Commissioner must submit annual reports to legislature beginning January 1, 2020, detailing outcomes including number of new programs created, providers who became Parent Aware rated, new jobs created, and increased child care capacity.
