• Establishes "extreme risk protection orders" allowing law enforcement, family members, or guardians to petition courts to prohibit individuals posing significant danger to themselves or others from possessing firearms for 6 months to 2 years.

• Creates voluntary buyback program for semiautomatic assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, with law enforcement agencies and licensed dealers reimbursed at fair market value or purchase price (whichever is less) and required to destroy purchased items within 45 days.
