Commissioners of health and education must jointly develop a plan requiring school districts to test for radon in public school buildings serving kindergarten through grade 12, based on EPA standards.

School districts must include radon testing as part of their ten-year facility plan and conduct testing according to the plan developed by the health and education commissioners.

School districts that test for radon must report results to the Department of Health and Department of Education in forms prescribed by their respective commissioners.

School districts must also report radon testing results at a school board meeting.

The requirements are effective for the 2019-2020 school year and later.
