Appropriates $13,000,000 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Education for fiscal year 2018 and $13,000,000 for fiscal year 2019 to fund grants to eligible schools under the support our students grant program.

Establishes a six-year grant period with the Commissioner allotting funds across each year to ensure adequate resources for the entire period, with a base funding level of $13,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 and later.

Allows the Commissioner to retain up to $100,000 in each fiscal year for administrative costs of the grant program.

Makes the fiscal year 2018 appropriation available until June 30, 2023, and the fiscal year 2019 appropriation available until June 30, 2024, with any remaining balances returning to the general fund.

Directs the revisor of statutes to codify Laws 2016, chapter 189, article 25, section 56 in the next publication of Minnesota Statutes, effective July 1, 2017.
