Real property owners owe no duty of care to trespassers unless a common law or statutory right of action existed as of the effective date of this section.

The statute does not affect any existing immunities from or defenses to civil liability established by other law or available at common law for property owners.

"Owner" is defined to include possessors of fee interests or life estates, tenants, lessees, occupants, holders of utility easements, and persons in control of the land.

The section is effective July 1, 2017, and applies to actions arising from incidents occurring on or after that date.
