County law libraries with fiscal reserves projected to sustain operations for over five years may transfer funds to their county for construction costs.

Maximum transfer amount is limited to half of the law library's fiscal reserve, not to exceed $200,000.

Transferred funds must be used to defray costs of constructing a new building to house the law library and courts.

Transfers require approval through the county law library's board of trustees.

Creates new statute Minnesota Statutes chapter 134A, section 17.
