Allows 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade public school students to attend courses at nonpublic schools at their own expense for up to one-third of the minimum hours required under section 120A.41.

Public school districts must grant academic credit toward graduation and subject area requirements for successfully completed nonpublic school courses, with credit amounts determined by comparing to comparable district courses or by the state commissioner if no comparable course exists.

Students must provide written notice to their public school district at least two weeks before starting a nonpublic school course and must submit grade documentation for each course taken.

Students attending nonpublic school courses remain ineligible for nonpublic pupil aid but continue to generate average daily membership funding for their enrolling public school district.

Students retain all rights, privileges, and access to services from their public school district while attending nonpublic school courses.
