SF 14 Summary

• Provides teacher development and evaluation revenue for fiscal years 2018 and 2019 to school districts, intermediate school districts, educational cooperatives, education districts, and charter schools without alternative professional pay system agreements.

• Revenue equals a specified amount times the number of full-time equivalent teachers employed on October 1 of the previous school year at each school site without an alternative pay system.

• Revenue must be reserved for teacher development and evaluation activities consistent with Minnesota Statutes sections 122A.40 and 122A.41, except for charter schools.

• State total teacher development and evaluation revenue entitlement is capped at $50,000,000 for fiscal years 2018 and 2019.

• Appropriates $45,000,000 for fiscal year 2018 and $50,000,000 for fiscal year 2019 from the general fund to the Department of Education as a onetime appropriation.
