SF1457 Summary

• Modifies high school student work hour restrictions to allow students age 18+ to work restricted hours with written consent and students under 18 with parental note to work until 11:30 p.m. and starting at 4:30 a.m. on school days.

• Reduces license application completion deadline from 90 days to 30 days and increases continuing education requirements for building officials from 16 to 38 hours per two-year period.

• Incorporates Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts from Association of Boxing Commissions (as amended August 2, 2016) into Minnesota law and extends mandatory rest period for combatants from 7 to 14 calendar days following competition.

• Eliminates consultation requirement between Department of Labor and Industry and Department of Health regarding occupational health matters and changes "journeyman" to "journeyworker" terminology throughout construction licensing statutes.

• Repeals elevator installation and alteration fee rules and utility interconnected wind generation installation fee provisions from Minnesota Rules and statutes.
