• Charter schools in good academic and financial standing may change authorizers if both the proposed authorizer and school board mutually agree and submit a joint written letter of intent to the commissioner.

• The current authorizer must inform the proposed authorizer about the school's fiscal, operational, and student performance status, including any unmet contract outcomes and outstanding contractual obligations.

• The proposed authorizer must submit an affidavit to the commissioner at least 90 business days before the existing charter contract expires for approval or disapproval.

• If the commissioner does not approve the authorizer change, the school and current authorizer may enter into a new contract; if they do not, the school must be dissolved according to applicable law and contract terms.
