School boards must include data on school discipline and efforts to reduce suspensions in their annual reports, including staff development, restorative justice practices, positive behavioral interventions and supports, trauma-informed curriculum, and culturally competent staff development.

Conduct violating district policies on student bullying, sexual/religious/racial harassment and violence, hazing, discrimination, or dangerous weapons is not subject to the "willful" requirement for dismissal.

School administrators must consider whether suspension of kindergarten through grade 5 students is consistent with district policies designed to prevent dismissal through early detection and prevent inappropriate behavior from recurring.

School removal from class policies must require notification and meeting with a student's parent or guardian after the student has been removed more than ten times in one school year.
