Designates up to six school districts or charter schools as rollout sites representing urban, suburban, and nonurban areas, with schools notified by August 1, 2017 and able to opt-in or opt-out by September 1, 2017.

Establishes a task force including rollout site representatives, parent groups, community organizations, and demographic councils to develop recommendations on best practices for disaggregated student data by February 1, 2018.

Requires the commissioner of education to disaggregate and report student performance data by specific demographic categories including race, ethnicity, home language, English learners, refugee status, homelessness, and free or reduced-price lunch status based on federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act requirements.

Mandates specific demographic reporting for the seven most populous Asian and Pacific Islander groups, three most populous Native groups, seven most populous Hispanic/Latino groups, and five most populous Black and African Heritage groups as determined by state demographer reports.

Appropriates $300,000 in fiscal year 2018 for grants to rollout sites, with individual sites eligible to receive up to $50,000 for the 2018-2019 school year.
