• Appropriates funds from the general fund to the Minnesota Department of Corrections in fiscal year 2018 for settlement of claims against the state for losses and injuries suffered by incarcerated individuals or those performing community service or sentence-to-service work.

• Allocates $965 for sentence-to-service and community work service claims under $7,000 and other claims already paid by the department.

• Provides individual payments for permanent injuries sustained while performing assigned duties at Minnesota correctional facilities: Philip Berg ($1,125), Kurt Bird ($9,350), Eloy Cantu ($3,729.79), Joseph Kamm ($3,750), Clinton Karnes ($3,000), Mark Knudsen ($750), and Colten Rosendahl ($9,350).

• Allocates $4,209.30 for medical treatment of James Comstock who was injured at Minnesota Correctional Facility - Stillwater.

• Appropriation is available until June 30, 2018, and provides full and final payment under Minnesota Statutes sections 3.738 and 3.739.
