School districts must make reasonable efforts to accommodate pupils excused from curricular activities for religious observance and provide annual notice to parents of their religious absence policy, effective 2017-2018 school year.

School boards may consider community religious observance when adopting annual school calendars.

Employers must grant at least two days of unpaid leave per calendar year for religious holidays, faith observance, or organized religious activities, unless the employee's absence would impose undue hardship on the employer.

Employees seeking religious holiday leave must provide reasonable notice to their employer.

These provisions apply to all employers including individuals, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, governmental entities, and school districts.
