Commissioner must adopt rules requiring driver's education programs at public, private, and commercial schools to include instruction on safely interacting with law enforcement during traffic stops and safely responding to emergency situations, effective June 1, 2019.

Driver's manual must include a chapter on safely interacting with law enforcement during traffic stops and safely responding to emergency vehicle situations in each subsequent edition published by the department.

Driver's Education Content Task Force established with 14 members representing legislators, law enforcement, civil rights organizations, driving schools, and community groups to develop recommendations and propose content by February 15, 2019.

Task force must make recommendations on implementing these changes, propose specific curriculum content, and propose any necessary legislation.

An unspecified appropriation from the general fund for fiscal year 2019 is allocated to the Legislative Coordinating Commission for task force administrative and staff support expenses.
