Appropriates unspecified bond proceeds to the commissioner of education for school safety facility grants to school districts.

Commissioner of education may award grants of no more than an unspecified amount per qualifying school building after consultation with the Minnesota School Safety Center.

At least half of all grants must be awarded to school districts with administrative offices located outside the seven-county metropolitan area.

Grants fund predesign, design, construction, furnishing, and equipping of school facilities, including renovating existing buildings and expanding existing facilities.

Commissioner of management and budget authorized to sell and issue state bonds in an unspecified amount to provide the appropriated funds.
