Prohibits operation of snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles for one year following conviction of driving while impaired under section 169A.20 or refusal to submit to testing under sections 169A.50 to 169A.53 or 171.177

Applies same driving under the influence sanctions to snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles as existing motor vehicle laws, including criminal penalties for violations

Requires courts to forward copies of all convictions and criminal and civil sanctions related to impaired driving on snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles to the commissioner and Department of Public Safety

Establishes that first-time DWI violators using off-road recreational vehicles or motorboats are subject only to criminal penalties and loss of operating privileges, exempting them from various additional DWI requirements such as chemical use assessments and long-term monitoring

Effective date of August 1, 2018, applies to violations committed on or after that date
