Appropriates an unspecified amount from the general fund in fiscal year 2019 to the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Humanities Center for a grant to the Afro American Development Association for Somali youth and young adult job training and workforce development.

Grant funds support internship and mentorship opportunities to build job skills and create employment pathways in private and public sectors for Somali youth and young adults.

Afro American Development Association may award subgrants to organizations demonstrating experience in job skills training for Somali communities, successful collaboration on culturally specific workforce initiatives, and ability to provide workforce cultural awareness programs to government and private employers.

Board of Directors of the Minnesota Humanities Center must submit a report by January 15, 2020 to relevant legislative committees detailing the use of grant funds.

This is a one-time appropriation.
