School principals must provide representatives of patriotic societies the opportunity to speak with students during the school day about educational interests and civic involvement.

Speaking opportunities are limited to one school day per school year and no more than 30 minutes of instructional time.

Patriotic societies must submit written notice to the school principal at least 60 days prior to the start of the school year, and the principal must provide written approval with the date and time of the presentation.

"Patriotic society" is defined as any group or organization serving young people under age 21 listed in United States Code, title 36, subtitle II, part B, or any of their affiliates.

The law is effective for the 2018-2019 school year and later.
