Amends Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 297A.67, to add a new subdivision exempting certain collegiate athletic event ticket purchasing rights from sales tax.

Exempts the sale of rights to purchase tickets in preferred seating areas at collegiate athletic events, provided the consideration is used entirely to support student scholarship costs.

Requires that the price paid for preferred area ticket purchasing rights be separately stated from the general admission ticket price.

Requires the general admission price to equal or exceed the highest priced general admission ticket for the closest seat outside the preferred area.

Takes effect the day following final enactment.
